The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) the Big Picture Summit was a highly successful event, demonstrating the potential of digital radio to the whole industry, including commercial media organisations.
The made-in-India desktop type DRM receiver manufactured by Communications Systems Delhi, which was officially launched last month in IBC, was demonstrated at the event. It was one of the key attractions and its manufacturer received many queries about availability and price.
Full working features of DRM were also demonstrated. Visitors appreciated its Emergency Warning Functionality, and would like this to be activated in the DRM transmitters being operated by All India Radio (AIR) so that the general public can be kept informed during emergencies. There were also questions from private FM broadcasters who visited the DRM stall about going digital using DRM.
