Digital Advisory Council’s first meeting of 2013

The Brazilian Ministry of Communications held on February 28th  the first meeting of the year of the Digital Advisory Council, created in 2012 to advise the government which digital radio system the country should adopt. Engineer Flávio Lima presented the methodology he was using to make calculations of the possible coverage area of digital radio, based on the results obtained from former tests. He only made the calculations on DRM because the other system did not deliver their parameters. He also talked about new tests on SW (first one within Brazil), MW (outside São Paulo, where there is significant interference), FM low power and FM high power. The objective and schedule of the tests will be decided shortly. Click here to download presentations.
