DRM members had a successful Broadcast Asia conference in Singapore from 15th to 18th June 2010.  Three mini-DRM events were held at the show, two at the Nautel booth and one at Transradio. During the course of the show, visitors were given demonstrations of DRM30 and DRM+ technology.

At the Nautel stand visitors witnessed a live transmission of Nautel, RFmondial and Fraunhofer equipment. Alexander Zink of Fraunhofer, along with Jens Schroeder of RFmondial were on hand to show the system capabilities of DRM and also to demonstrate the impressive 5.1 surround sound broadcast either on the speakers or on the specially made chair. Equipment on display demonstrating DRM+ included an RFmondial DRM+ modulator, Fraunhofer Content Server, and Nautel NV5 – 5 kW FM/DRM+ transmitter, with RFmondial DRM+ receiver/demodulator.

In addition, Nautel’s stand also featured an over-the-air demonstration of DRM30 on shortwave at 26.0 MHz. A Uniwave DRM receiver displayed slide show, Journaline (text services) along with title and station information, electronic program guide, and more. Participants were able to work the receiver and see many of the rich features of DRM broadcasting and could hear impressive quality of music – FM sound quality on shortwave.

DRM system demonstrations will again be held at the IBC in Amsterdam in September 2010 at DRM members’ booths.
