DRM Short-Wave Broadcasts Now Available at HFCC

A Note to Broadcasters from DRM: HFCC (High Frequency Coordination Conference) is a group active in coordination of frequency channels used in short wave broadcasting. It is registered as a regional coordination group with the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva. Several years ago, an ITU Task Group recommended that coordination - as developed in the HFCC - should become a part of the frequency management procedures. The principles of coordination were incorporated into the International Radio Regulations during the 1997 World Radio Conference.

HFCC's main activity is a direct co-ordination of frequencies among frequency managers and specialists of broadcasters, administrations, transmission service providers and other organisations with the aim to facilitate the resolution or minimisation of mutual interference on short waves. DRM is a member of HFCC, and HFCC is a member of the DRM Consortium. DRM advises broadcasters to coordinate their DRM transmissions within HFCC in order to prevent interference.
