Pravasi Bharathi Radio Launches Malayalam DRM Transmissionin Abu Dhabi

Pravasi Bharathi 810 AM, the world’s first Malayalam digital radio has started transmission in AM & DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) mode with effect from 22nd Jan ‘2016 using a 200 kW Nautel NX200 transmitter. AM transmission is scheduled from 05.00 am to 12.10 am and DRM transmission from 12.10 am to 05.00 am local time. The transmitter and antenna mast is located at Al Maqta, Abu Dhabi, around 15 kms away from the studio. Pravasi Bharathi Broadcasting Corporation reaches millions of listeners in all the GCC countries offering music, discussions, news, current affairs and entertainment.  Pravasi Bharathi 810 AM covers 72% Indian diaspora in the GCC countries and has its studios and offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Thiruvananthapuram with marketing offices in six GCC nations as well as in Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Calicut, Mumbai and New Delhi.

The station was inaugurated by Abdul Rahman Awadh Al Harthi, Executive Director of Radio for Abu Dhabi Media, and Noushad Abdul Rahuman, Chairman of Pravasi Bharathi Broadcasting Corporation. Also present at the inauguration ceremony were K C Joseph, Kerala’s Minister for Rural Development, Planning & Culture.

Pravasi Bharathi Broadcasting Corporation is a media conglomerate incorporated under Media Zone Authority, Abu Dhabi which focuses the entire Indian diaspora, 6.8 million in the Gulf (Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia).
