What DRM Members will bring to IBC 2014

IBC 2014 brings thousands of broadcast professional together for one week in Amsterdam. We have asked DRM members which exciting DRM products they are promoting at the conference this year.

Hermann Zensen, Sales Manager at Digidia (Hall 8 – stand E89) says: “We are seeing increased interest from receiver manufacturers that use the ALTO and SOPRANO products, a proven robust solution used in India, for testing all DRM features. The ALTO content server is software based, and allows easy upgrades and activation of options. User friendly and easy to use, it covers all DRM data features such as Tex Messages, Journaline, Slideshow.  SOPRANO is a FPGA/DSP based robust modulator that can easily be integrated with any MW, LW and SW transmitter.

GatesAir (Hall 8 – stand B10) will be showing their Flexiva family of AM and FM transmitters featuring the new 4th Generation “Exgine” digital modulator that supports DRM. Tim Anderson, CPBE, Manager, Radio Market & Product Development says: “the new Exgine features Crest Factor Reduction and Advanced Real-Time Pre-Correction (RTAC™) for maximum efficiency and transmitter power utilization for all digital radio modes”.

RFmondial, represented by its Managing Director, Jens Schroeder, will display a complete DRM+ chain including transmitter, receiver and audio/data decoding (Audio, Journaline, Slideshow, TextMessages, Emergency Warning Functionality) at the Nautel stand  (Hall 8 – stand C49) and their DRM30/AM monitoring receiver RF-SE12 at Ampegon’s stand (Hall 8 stand D35).

Christian Hörlle, Project Manager at Transradio, announces the display of a DMOD3-CS at their booth (Hall 8 – stand D35) – the combination of a DRM ContentServer (FhG) and their DRM modulator.

Ampegon (Hall 8 – stand D35)  represented by its CEO Josef Troxler,  introduces a new product line of shortwave transmitters with major technical advances in the transmitter control system, in the motor drive tuning system and in the measurement acquisition system. The transmitters have an integrated DRM modulator and an RF exciter, analogue and digital audio signal inputs but fully digital processing – filtering, leveling, modulation schemes. Faster and more accurate positioning of the transmitter tuning circuits with digital control is applied with the latest DC motor technology. Electronic sensors for the measurement and supervision of auxiliary equipment are integrated in the control system and are accessible on screen. These major enhancements are a clear step forward in transmitter technology and underline Ampegon’s mission to serve the global market with innovation, advanced technology and premium quality systems.
