DRM is a pure digital broadcast and most flexible in terms of band support and spectrum allocation.
It will give best service when used as intended, as a pure digital standard.
A single DRM FM transmission (“DRM block”) occupies 100 kHz bandwidth.

Multiple DRM blocks, each of 100 kHz bandwidth, can be allocated next to each other in spectrum – maximum use of spectrum
(e.g. 6 or 8 independent DRM transmissions from a single FM-band transmitter).
Simulcast DRM offers flexible simulcast options that allows broadcasters and regulators to plan the spectrum allocation and infrastructure development with maximum efficiency.

The simulcast operation without replacing existing FM transmitter leaves the FM transmitter untouched and efficiently uses the spectrum gaps between the existing FM transmissions. In the simulcast operation from the same DRM FM transmitter DRM offers the flexibility to have 1 to 4 digital DRM blocks along with analogue FM transmission.

Each DRM block occupies 100 kHz bandwidth and can be in the full control of the same or different broadcasters.
