Digital radio is a new, digital platform totally part of the new digital age that offers better audio than analogue. This is supplemented by a host of other extra features and services like data, text, emergency warning, traffic information etc. making radio a truly digital hub serviced over the airwaves and in the case of DRM on all possible bands. A digital receiver with all this functionality requires high-performance chipsets and complex engineering. But nothing that good engineers and enterprising businessmen cannot turn into good profitable products.
To help them the Consortium has just published the compact DRM Radio Receiver Specification: rxspec.drm.org
