You recently announced the installation of a DRM SW transmitter mainly for broadcasting to the Amazon region (to read more, click HERE). What frequency and other technical details can you offer? [Radio Miami]
The transmitter (with a power of 2.5 kW) will be tested on an experimental and scientific basis with the help of the University of Brasilia (UnB) and the Ministry of Science, Technology from the major EBC site at Rodeador Park. The AM transmissions on 6180 and 11780 on air from there will not be affected. The DRM transmission will take place in the 25m band, using a separate HRS antenna (with around 18db of gain). This is one of the very high gain, low angle EBC (Brazilian public broadcaster) antennas.
