Is image transmission possible from DRM in India? [Dhananjay Patwardhan]
When broadcasting audio digitally the audio stream data is accompanied by the Journaline data stream in the background. And remember that on any AM or VHF frequency in DRM one can broadcast up to three audio channels. This individual data stream can be used to deliver station logos, images, pictures, and other media to receivers. It is this very extra feature and benefit of DRM we can used in delivering distance education or emergency warning, for example.
In addition, images can also be carried as a slideshow application. However, that application type is only suitable for local DRM services in the FM band, that have higher capacity for data.
