Is there any initiative in preparation to increase the number of new cars equipped with DRM receivers?

The over 4.5 million cars equipped with DRM receivers since 2015 and now on the roads of India represent an exceptional digital radio rollout story by any standard. Having a digital radio and using it can be two different things. This We are, therefore, much encouraged by a great grassroots initiative led by Dr Thaminana and other enthusiasts who started an awareness campaign aimed at drivers but also car showroom staff last year. A lot of the big metros have benefitted by good presentations with good feedback and also demonstrations with cars on the road. Mercedes Benz is the latest car brand to include DRM as a standard feature in its S class models.
An official announcement recommending DRM in the FM band is expected to give an impulse to the industry so that more car models, can be equipped with DRM in all bands while aftermarket solutions can be properly introduced.
