Was the World Radio Day just a ritualistic anniversary?
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed February 13 as World Radio Day in 2022 (13th time the day was globally celebrated). Under the theme of “Trust” this was an excellent opportunity to reaffirm the value of radio and digital radio, too. Endorsements came from a lot of personalities in Asia (Indian Premier Modi), Africa, Europe. In India a valuable University of Madras – Chennai workshop spotted DRM to the young generation of students etc. The DRM consortium has released the emergency warning video which underlines the value of radio that still works when mobiles and television towers are damaged or down (as recently seen in Western Europe during the strong winds here).
