The DRM Consortium’s trip to India had three main objectives:

DRM Consortium workshop and demo for AIR staff – Emergency Warning and Alerts (21st August)

Some 40 staff members of AIR participated at this very successful event, which was hosted by AIR at their transmitter site in Mall Road, New Delhi. It was organised by Honorary DRM Chairman, Yogendra Pal, with the involvement of AIR management. Key AIR staff, including the outgoing and incoming Engineers-in-Chief, were also present. Digidia and Fraunhofer equipment (CS) was used to illustrate the Emergency Warning DRM features. The comprehensive and ‘hands-on’ technical presentation was aimed at helping AIR plan and include in their future DRM broadcasts the Emergency Warning system. The presentation was very well received and a lot of interest was shown for the clear demonstration of this valuable feature (live on laptops, tablet and Uniwave receiver). There were many questions during the event e.g. on switching to emergency warning, scheduling various services etc.
