The successful participation of DRM in the 29th edition of BES (Broadcast Engineering Society) Expo International Conference & Exhibition on Broadcast & Media Technology, in New Delhi, India (July 3-5) included a live DRM AM demonstration in a small electric vehicle manufactured in India. This is one of the latest models among the over 7 million vehicles equipped with DRM receivers on the Indian roads. The number of such cars with DRM receivers would increase exponentially if the DRM was also mandated for the FM band as well, since the current receivers could be upgraded to digital FM and new models could include DRM in all bands and analogue from the word go.
