DRM in Conversation Carried by Private Indian Radio Station

In a double-headed (DRM-HD) interview recorded in the summer of 2025 and released now by the private radio station Red FM in India, the DRM Consortium chairman makes the strong case for DRM in India.

The conversation focuses a lot on DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) as the primary digital broadcasting path for India. Some of the arguments presented are that India has already invested heavily in DRM transmitters for AM bands, that FM is the next logical step and that one country should have one single standard addingd that the ecosystem (like cars with DRM receivers) is already aligned with DRM.

The interview also references HD Radio, the digital radio system widely used in the United States.
