DRM at EBU Digital Radio Summit

DRM at EBU Digital Radio Summit

More than 100 delegates attended the Digital Radio Summit Day, with the highlights including a lively debate on the future direction of digital radio – both broadcast and broadband are key it seems. During one of the key sessions Ruxandra Obreja, DRM Chair, gave an update on the completion of the DRM standard (with the latest DRM+ ITU recommendations) and the latest developments from DRM key markets. The DRM presentation included a video on the current state of play in India, the country which is engaged in the rollout of DRM. The presentations from DRM, WorldDMB, RadioDNS and IAMDA were followed by quite direct questions on the tough issues of rolling out digital radio in the current climate. During the day other insights came from digital radio organisations in Germany, Netherlands, France, and some community radio stations.
