DRM Consortium Chair Ruxandra Obreja reports on the DRM sessions at the ABU GA

As in previous years, I also participated in radio and content meetings running in parallel with the technical committee. At the programme committee meeting I stepped back from the technical nitty gritty and tried to throw a bit of light on the digital radio users, to see if they are a new tribe with old habits or an old audience with new habits. You can guess the answer (a bit of both). The presentation was part of a very well attended expert dialogue panel (Vietnam, Korea and Japan also represented) on Audiences in the Digital Era, moderated by a much respected Australian consultant, Mr Steve Ahern. My presentation seemed to go down rather well particularly with broadcasters from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. It is of course available to all DRM members.
