DRM honour Sharad Sadhu

“During the DBS event in Kuala Lumpur the DRM Consortium had the chance to say a fond farewell to the ABU’s Director of Technology, Mr Sharad Sadhu. At the end of this month Sharad is retiring from the ABU after 20 years of service to the union. He began his career as a broadcast engineer in 1971 in India and soon held a number of technical management positions mainly in Doordarshan, the Indian TV public broadcaster. In 1993 Sharad joined the ABU, first as a Senior Engineer in the Technology Department and since 2007 as its able and dynamic Director.

At the end of a very successful DRM workshop last week, the DRM team surprised Sharad by announcing that the Consortium will invite him to be an honorary member of the Consortium. The Consortium offered Sharad a diploma and a plaque in recognition of his efforts and achievements in promoting new technologies, like DRM, in a meaningful and connected way in the region.

We are all wishing Sharad well and we hope he will remain an inquisitive ambassador for digital radio and a good adviser and supporter of DRM in the Asia Pacific region.”
