DRM in 2024 – Looking Forward with Confidence

On behalf of the DRM Consortium, let me wish you all a happy, healthy and successful year!

As the DRM has made significant progress in 2023, we aim to continue this pursuing even more vigorously our main strategic directions: establish DRM as the preferred global standard for digitising all bands and offering full and flexible coverage, expand in key markets of Asia, Africa and Europe, primarily, push for new and up-to-date receiver solutions and promote DRM as the perfect solution for delivering emergency warnings and distance learning.

To achieve these goals, we use different communication ways: face-to-face meetings, attendance and presentations at conferences, workshops, seminars. We will continue to demonstrate the superiority of the standard and reflect it in the press on our website, etc. For this we already have plans in place for conferences, tutorials. An important part of the preparations is also devoted to our annual General Assembly to be held in UAE in May.
If you want to be in touch with us for more information, contribute and participate here are some of the events of interest.

Between the 9th and 12th of January, some DRM members will be attending the CES event in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the HFCC A24 shall take place in Malaysia (5-19th).
On January 17th, we will deliver a virtual talk on DRM saving lives during disasters, spearheaded by the UN GCFund.
On February the 7th, we shall co-host with the Asian Broadcasting Union the ABU DRM Emergency Warning Tutorial (registration details will follow).
On the 13th of the same month, we will celebrate the World Radio Day.
A highlight of the DRM calendar is the BES exhibition and conference (14-17 February), also sponsored by DRM, taking place in New Delhi, India.
Into March, between the 4th and 7th, the ABU DBS will be held as usual in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the title ‘DRM: Digital Radio Over Any Distance’ and DRM will be present with an exciting presentation.
The annual DRM General Assembly will be held for the first time ever in Dubai, UAE, 19-20 May. It will be a key event for all DRM members and invited guests. CABSAT will be held as usual at the Dubai World Trade Centre, immediately after, between 21-23 May.
Finally, both on 29th to 31st May, eLearning Africa will be held in the Rwandan capital of Kigali. DRM will be present there, too.

We look forward to seeing you all there and answering any burning questions in the meantime (please write to: projectoffice@drm.org).
