DRM Participates in Successful ABU Technology Webinar on Emergency Warning

As part of the annual ABU Technology Seminar series the DRM Consortium chose to focus this year on the DRM Emergency Warning Functionality – Saving Lives by integrating DRM into your National Warning Infrastructure.

On the 3rd of September Ruxandra Obreja and Alexander Zink, Chair and Vice-Chair of the Consortium gave an introduction and a practical explanation of this feature which is in-built and can become part of the necessary disaster warning system of each country. The next day Yogendra Pal, Honorary Chairman of the DRM India Platform talked about the feature from a broadcaster and national authority perspective going into the details of how the feature really works in a national context, like India.  About 90 participants from 60 countries took part in the two parts of the webinar and their questions were dealt with live during the two days.

The DRM and ABU are already working on preparing the second DRM Workshop to be held in Kuala Lumpur, on October 9-10.  Click here for more details.
