DRM RadioSchooling Enables Distance Education Via Digital Radio Broadcasts – IEEE quarter publication
In August the DRM Consortium tested very successfully its capacity to transmit audio and data (text with pictures, graphs etc.) using the terrestrial digital broadcasting standard. In the third quarterly issue of the IEEE magazine, Alexander Zink of Fraunhofer IIS and Vice-Chairman of the Consortium, tackled the subject in more detail. He explained that DRM can deliver education to large areas that are not connected to the internet or where IP is not easily available or affordable. In an illustrative article he explains what is needed to set up education transmissions via DRM.
