DRM Unveils More Information And Equipment On DRM+ At IFA

Berlin, Germany -The DRM Consortium was present again at one of the world´s biggest electronic consumer trade fairs, IFA in Berlin (29.08-3.09.).  Among the receivers featured, visitors to the DRM booth could experience the DRM sound on the newly commercially available TechniSat Multyradio receiver. The first DRM-car receiver world-wide for the market (the Russian Sarapulsky Radiozavod SRZ RP – 229 DRM) was also available, it is  a prototype ready to go in production.   The German DRM Forum presented on Sept. 2nd within the IFA Science Technical Forum the current situation on DRM+. The Chairman of the German Platform  together with colleagues from the Leibniz University Hannover, Fraunhofer IIS, Fachhochschule Kaiserslautern and the Media Authority of the Rhine-Palatinate Land introduced the most recent developments  on DRM+, the recent results of the  first world´s DRM+ tests in Hanover and Kaiserslautern. The over fifty expert  attendees were impressed by the technical details but also by the simple truth: DRM+ works without interference in the FM band.  It is expected that the DRM+  will be standardized next year while more work will is planned for its development and measurement.  The DRM consortium will also be present with live demos in the EBU village and at its planned event on Friday September 12th.
