One of the digital radio developments at IBC 2026 was the growing range of multi-standard digital radio receivers supporting DRM alongside other open digital radio standards.
The recently introduced BKS ES006 receiver by Elements Innovation is one example. It is available in versions supporting DRM together with DAB+ or CDR (China digital radio).
A new video shows the DRM + DAB+ version in operation in Erlangen, Germany, where the university campus station Funklust is broadcasting in both DRM and DAB+. This offers the opportunity to receive the same programme using both digital radio standards on a single receiver.
The video demonstrates reception of Funklust first via DAB+ and then via DRM, followed by a DRM-EWF demonstration programme.
