Is the DRM Standard being Improved and How?

(Indonesian Expert)

The only all- frequency bands, open and ITU recommended digital broadcasting standard, DRM, is complete in bands above and below 30 MHz. DRM is the most modern of the big digital audio broadcasting standards; it is flexible, green and meets the needs of big and small broadcasters interested in large, medium and small area coverage with digital transmissions. At the moment the DRM Consortium is not carrying out any work for changing the standard. The ETSI organisation (www.ETSI.org), with its 900+ member organizations drawn from over 60 countries and five continents, and which supports the timely development, ratification and testing of globally applicable standards for ICT-enabled systems, applications and services has recently issued a new DRM document. This appears on etsi.org and simply helps those interested in the standard and its efficient rollout. The ETSI document is an update and it is not changing any of the key parameters and benefits of DRM.
