Launch: BBC – Deutsche Welle In Europe On DRM Digital Radio

London, UK – The BBC and Deutsche Welle (DW) today launched a new Digital Radio MondialeTM (DRM) digital radio channel for Europe. The channel is an 18-hour daily broadcast of the best international programmes in English from BBC World Service and DW. It also brings to the audience all the advantages of the DRM digital radio including near-FM quality audio, text messages, Journaline and an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG). This first ever joint BBC-DW DRM radio channel has been launched using six transmitters, which are used in pairs, to cover much of Western Europe.
