Pakistan Minister Supports Radio Digitisation with DRM

On July 9th the Pakistani Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb, inaugurated at Radio Pakistan Lahore several cultural projects aimed at effectively promoting the soft image of the country. Among the projects mentioned were cinema, a Digital Broadcast Training Lab and Podcast Studio. The Minister also made direct reference to digital radio DRM.

A Video Promo on DRM Awareness – Akashvani (All India Radio) Hyderabad

The DRM Consortium key Supporter in India, Dr Thamminana KR, is continuing his excellent DRM awareness campaigns in car showrooms all over India. He has conducted over 100 DRM promotions for sales managers of Maruti Suzuki, MG Motor, Toyota, Hyundai and Mercedes Benz S-class, either face-to-face or through video conferences. One of the latest campaigns was in Hyderabad, the Indian state of Telangana, based on a All India Radio DRM transmission. The target audiences of this promotion were new sales staff in the showrooms, drivers, and potential customers.

Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Embraces DRM

June 23rd was a big day for the public radio of Pakistan (Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation – PBC) and DRM. By giving green light to the installation and commissioning of a 1000KW digital DRM Medium Wave transmitter, with required budget, approved by the highest forum chaired by Minister Planning & Development Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, and with the approval of the full digitisation plan DRM is now the official digital standard of Pakistan.
