RRI DG Elected Member of in the Supervisory Board of the Indonesian Public Broadcaster


The Indonesian Parliament elected on May 20th Mr Muhammad Rohanudin for one of the influential positions on the Supervisory Board overseeing the activity of the Indonesian public broadcaster RRI for 2021-2026. First as CTO, then as President Director of this organisation, over many years Mr Rohanudin has promoted digital radio and DRM as he has seen the importance and benefits of an all-band digital radio standard like DRM for Indonesia.

Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) has been introduced to RRI staff in successful workshops and events over the past few years. Mr Rohanudin and his staff have also supported and participated in successful workshops and events valuable, extensive DRM tests in AM and FM in Bogor, Bali, Batam and, lately, in Jakarta. Some of the test evaluations and demos have become official ITU documents demonstrating the commitment of RRI to the modern technology of DRM, able to offer superior radio quality, multimedia services and link them to other modern platforms.

The DRM Chairman said: “We are looking forward to the continued cooperation between the DRM Consortium and its valued member, RRI, for the benefit of its many listeners”.
