The United Republic of Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) annual conference in Dar Es Salam celebrated 20 years of broadcast pluralism and the new broadcasting roadmap for Africa. About 200 delegates attended the two-day conference for discussions on radio and television developments, including digitisation of the audio broadcast system.

There was great interest in the technical overview of DRM and its capabilities and potential. A demonstration of the latest South Africa developments, and.the playout of live audio transmissions in DRM30 were both very successful. The wide potential usage over all ITU-approved frequency bands formed a very good basis for discussions on how regulators can deliver an effective roadmap for the broadcast environment.
