The DRM Consortium is pleased to welcome Edugist, a Nigerian education-focused media and innovation organisation, as its newest member.
Edugist is dedicated to strengthening education across Africa through journalism, technology, research and innovative communication solutions. The organisation has already actively supported the DRM Consortium. Most recently, Edugist represented the DRM Consortium at eLearning Africa 2026 in Accra, Ghana, where it presented DRM-based educational solutions to delegates and policymakers.
DRM digital radio can deliver audio as well as text, images and other educational resources over large areas without requiring continuous internet access. This offers important opportunities for distance learning, teacher training and access to information, particularly in communities where connectivity remains limited or unreliable.
Edugist also brings to the Consortium an extensive network of relationships with government institutions and ministries, media organisations, universities, NGOs, international organisations and private-sector partners. This strong presence in Nigeria, combined with its pan-African and international connections, offers valuable opportunities to increase awareness of DRM and engage with relevant stakeholders across the country and beyond.
The DRM Consortium looks forward to working closely with Edugist and to jointly exploring how digital radio can support education, innovation and digital inclusion in Nigeria and across Africa.
