CML Micro has added Bluetooth connectivity to its DRM1000 Digital Radio Mondiale receiver platform, opening new possibilities for bringing DRM audio, multimedia and information services directly to smartphones and other connected devices.

The new functionality, demonstrated at IBC 2026, enables DRM broadcast content to be accessed on familiar smart devices without requiring built-in DRM reception hardware or an internet connection. Applications range from enhanced information and multimedia services to distance learning and emergency alerts.
