The presentation made by key experts in the Consortium (from companies like Fraunhofer IIS, Ampegon, Starwaves, the DRM South Africa Group) focused on the key aspects of the standard, its advantages, use, receiver development and implementation.
This was followed by a great session of questions and answers enriched recently with other points raised as the DRM Consortium has participated in recent African workshops, conferences, and exhibitions. They referred to advantages of digital, characteristics of digital receivers and transmission chain, costs and included even questions like: “Will digital radio (and DRM included) kill the FM?”[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][image_slider_no_space on_click=”prettyphoto” height=”200″ navigation_style=”light” highlight_active_image=”yes” images=”12958,12959″][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text]One of the roundtable participants sent us his immediate reaction:
