As recently announced, the DRM Consortium has launched a free membership initiative, offering interested radio stakeholders the opportunity to become members of the DRM family as Associates for a year. Only a small administrative fee is required to benefit from this offer.
Companies around the world have already shown interest in joining the Consortium based on this announcement. Among them are the
- the main network provider in Romania, Radiocom (www.radiocom.ro), broadcasting in DRM shortwave the programmes of Radio Romania International),
- Association of Medium Wave Broadcasters in Italy, OMItaliane (omitaliane.com), representing the Italian broadcasters using the AM bands,
- and telecommunications companies like Media Telematika (MTJ) in Indonesia (mediatelematika.id), offering hardware, software, network, and telecommunications services).
Many more such organisations have approached the Consortium requesting membership. Congratulations to all of them!
Through increased involvement in DRM activities and events, companies will be able to develop DRM digital radio products and services faster and thus contribute towards a smooth roll-out of the DRM standard in their countries and, further afield, in their own regions and even on continents.
