DRM holds successful workshop at DBS on benefits of DRM and the criteria for choosing the right digital radio standard

On the first day of the Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS)) organised by the ABU in Kuala Lumpur the DRM Consortium held its most successful workshop of the recent years at this premier Asian broadcast event. Taking as its theme “Digital Radio Mondiale – The Right Choice for a National Roll Out”, looking at the criteria that might help in choosing the most appropriate digital radio standard, the over 60 participants heard about but also discussed very openly the benefits of DRM and digital radio in general. During a very lively workshop representatives from Saudi Arabia, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan announced new actual or imminent DRM implementation activities.

At the end of the event the DRM Consortium thanked the outgoing Director of Technology, ABU, Mr Sharad Sadhu, and announced him as honorary member of the DRM organisation.
