DRM Principal Sponsor at ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS)

The Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) Consortium was the principal sponsor at this year’s ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS) in Kuala Lumpur, 5-8 March, one of the premier digital events in Asia.

“With the most significant DRM developments underway in India, especially, and Asia Pacific generally, we felt the time was right to become deeply involved with this significant initiative. ABU is a major promoter of the connected world and the place of DRM in it is undeniably key” – said Alexander Zink, Technical Committee Vice-Chairman and Treasurer, DRM Consortium.

DRM offered a different activity every single day during the event. Key DRM experts and representatives of the Consortium gave presentations to the ITU-AIBD Workshop on Digital Migration which preceded the DBS proper and also during the Symposium itself.

On the first day of DBS the DRM Consortium held a practical workshop that focused on the features, benefits and criteria that make DRM the right choice for a national roll out in those countries of the Asia-Pacific region currently facing the radio digitisation challenge.
