Your Questions Answered: Your workshop is on the Emergency Warning Functionality, “native” to DRM. Can you explain what that means?

Have just read that you are planning a workshop this week on the Emergency Warning Functionality , “native” to DRM Can you explain in a few words what native really means?

(Sri Lankan DRM student)

The emergency alert capability is an integral part of the DRM standard which natively supports emergency alert signalling (EWF). DRM receivers are triggered to re-tune automatically to an emergency transmission (including optional auto-switch-on) while flashing the screen and increasing the audio volume. Text in several languages can also be shown on the digital radios screen as well.

Our specialists will respond to your short and relevant questions about the DRM standard.

Please submit them to projectoffice@drm.org and we will post them on our website.

Thank you
