The DRM Consortium, represented by some of its key members in India and the world, will take part in the first World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit for M&E Industry in Mumbai, May 1-4. The summit which will comprise an exhibition, a conference and a fair or bazaar for concrete business will be opened by the Indian Prime Minister. The event has four pillars: broadcasting, animation, digital media and film.
World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) – is well advertised in Mumbai and in the Indian media. As a first ever such large-scale event Waves is being promoted as a one stop destination for content creation, investment and ‘Create in India’ opportunities to enhance the country’s global outreach in the industry.
As part of the Broadcasting and Infotainment segment the DRM Consortium will be present during the exhibition showing the latest DRM enhancements in the most concrete way highlighting the benefits of DRM and the latest on receivers (on dashboard, standalone and mobile). Members of the DRM Consortium like CML, Fraunhofer IIS, Starwaves, Gospell, Inntot, Optm, NXP, RFmondial, Alongside Tech, Solar Grove Solutions will present various aspects of DRM, transmission chain, advantages and services for AM and FM like distance learning, emergency warning and public signage. New receiver solutions will feature prominently, and it is expected that the DRM group of Indian and foreign experts will also present an Indian car with DRM receiver reception.
The DRM chairman, Ruxandra Obreja and DRM vice-chairman Alexander Zink (Fraunhofer IIS) will be part also of the panel discussion on “Radio Re-imagined: Thriving in the Digital Age” on 2nd May 2025 at 1000-1045 hrs at the Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai.
