The DRM Consortium, represented by some of its key members in India and the world, attended the opening of the first World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit for M&E Industry in Mumbai, May 1-4. The Indian Prime Minister delivered a passionate opening speech of this new event aimed to project Indian talent across the globe.

Hundreds of Indian media representatives and from over 90 countries witnessed a spectacular opening which brought on stage some of the greatest Bollywood stars, musicians, dancers and the important officials who have organised this mega event. In his inaugural speech the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who stressed, with great conviction and encouragement, the immense reserves of Indian creativity that need to be showcased at home and abroad.

World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES is being promoted on many platforms these days as a one stop destination for content creation, investment and ‘Create in India’ opportunities to enhance the country’s global outreach in the industry.

As part of the Broadcasting and Infotainment segment the DRM Consortium is present during the exhibition with a tasteful booth showing the latest DRM progress, always stressing the benefits of DRM.

Members of the DRM Consortium like CML, Fraunhofer IIS, Starwaves, Gospell, Inntot, Optm, NXP, RFmondial, Alongside Tech, Solar Grove Solutions presenting various aspects of DRM, transmission chain, advantages and services for AM and FM like distance learning, emergency warning and public signage. New receiver solutions like small affordable N88, to be manufactured in India were unveiled at Waves. The booth was already visited today by a group of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Auhtority of India) specialists led by the TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti.
